Ogasawara Wave Cast Iron Bookends

With curves in all the right places, these cast iron bookends (sold as a pair) by Rikucho Ogasawara are emblematic of the master craftsman’s pursuit of rugged elegance. Resembling a wave about to crash, each bookend implies motion while providing stability, effortlessly holding your books in place.

History: 
Rikucho Ogasawara, the son of a cast iron foundry artisan, began working alongside his father at the age of 16. Inheriting the techniques of Nambu ironware, which dates back to the Edo period, Ogasawara became a pioneer in cast iron craftsmanship, known for his application of traditional production processes to contemporary household products.

 

Materials:
Cast iron with lacquer coating

Variation: 
Handmade cast iron may show slight variation.

Care Instructions:
Dust and wipe with dry cloth to clean.

 

Returns must be made within 2 weeks in original, unused condition with all packaging for either 1. Store credit for the full amount or 2. Refund - minus a 20% restocking fee.  Tortoise does not cover the cost of return shipping or the cost of re-shipping an exchange, and the cost of shipping for returns and exchanges is the responsibility of the customer.
